Windows 7 Will Soon Be A Part Of The CompTIA A+ Certification Exam
CompTIA has recently announced that it will be updating it’s A+ certification exam to include Windows 7 components starting in January of 2011.

Windows 7 content will be added to both tests required to achieve CompTIA A+ certification: CompTIA A+ Essentials (220-701) and CompTIA A+ Practical Application (220-702).

The following quote was issued in the official press release:

“The ever accelerating technology adoption curve places increasing importance on the need to continually update the skills of the high-tech workforce,” said Terry Erdle, senior vice president, skills certification, CompTIA. “CompTIA is committed to helping IT professionals keep their skills current and fresh through regular updates of the content of our certification exams.”

This should really come as no surprise since CompTIA is always revising their certifications to stay up to date on the latest technologies. ┬áIt was only a matter of time before they embraced the popular Microsoft OS and began making sure IT professionals are skilled in it’s use and deployment.

Now would be the perfect time to begin brushing up on those Windows 7 skills ahead of the changes to one of the most popular and important computer certifications available to IT professionals and students.
